Your top image is my favorite. It is very strong. That white is coming in pretty hot, though. Maybe a bounce off something would be better; I think only a hint of light catching that plastic divider would be enough. His shadow on that divider is very strong-- it makes him bigger, figuratively speaking. Is he a docker or a mail worker?
